Laundry

Project Overview
I’m beyond proud to present “Laundry”, an illustration created for the City of Catanzaro, made possible thanks to the generous support of Banca di Montepaone.
The artwork comes to life on one of the staircases in Catanzaro’s historic center, as part of “Scalinarte” — a public art festival that turns the city’s stairways into open-air canvases, blending everyday life with artistic imagination.
Concept
“Laundry” is a celebration of lightness, imagination, and carefree joy — emotions that belong to us as children but often fade as we grow older.
The man “hanging” the clouds invites us to reflect on how we choose to see the world — a gentle reminder that we can nurture our surroundings with love, attention, and passion.
I chose this staircase because it connects two schools:
“G. Patari” Middle School and “G. Rodari” Primary and Nursery School — places where today’s children and teenagers will become the adults of tomorrow.
May this artwork be a beacon, a symbol of creativity and hope, guiding them along their journey.
About “Scalinarte”
“Scalinarte” is a visionary public art initiative conceived and curated by Massimo Sirelli.
The project’s mission is to identify and transform some of Catanzaro’s most iconic staircases through the creative vision of local artists, giving new life to the city’s urban landscape.
