PROJECT
Calabria Illustrata is a cultural and creative enterprise born to craft an honest narrative of Calabria through the art of illustration.
The project’s aim is to portray and promote the Calabrian territory—its towns and villages—through a fresh, emotional, and alternative storytelling approach, one that can help redeem Calabria from a stereotypical, simplistic image that is too often embarrassing, harsh, and unfairly burdened with prejudice.
Despite the many contradictions of our land, we want beauty to prevail.
Throughout this year, I had the pleasure of illustrating some of Calabria’s most iconic places—such as Tropea, Pizzo Calabro, the Arcomagno (San Nicola Arcella), and Scilla—letting myself be guided by the emotions and sense of wonder these towns hold.
